Red Rabbit Racing

It was on to Gulfstream Park For Novgorod The Great's next challenge and as he made the lead, the Track Announcer shouted out ...

"Novgorod The Great  - He's Not Messing Around!"

You're damn right he wasn't messing around as our boy ripped through the field to claim his second win in a Sprint on the Tapeta surface at Gulfstream Park outside Miami.

Setting The Scene...

June 10, we had re-entered our boy in a 5 & 1/2 furlong sprint on the artificial Tapeta surface that ran with a field of 6 as the third race on the card.   We drew the 3 hole.  Atop our steed was new Red Rabbit Racing Jockey, Luca Pacini, who was all Goose Pimply as he donned the iconic Red Rabbit Racing Colors.

Trainer Gulick had our boy dead ready for the race.  Jimmy had vanned him in overnight from Ocala and had to be as tired as anyone listening to an unending Clocker Rabbit story.   Here he is pictured left, issuing racing instructions to Luca.  Picture right is Breeder Rabbit's (Ben) newborn son Calvin taking in his 1st Horse Race.  He brought in the winner!

This race had been rescheduled after the cancellation of the entire June 5th card that got washed away by a Tropical Storm that roared thru Southern Florida.  Sadly, Founder Rabbit (Aunty Peggy) had flown down for the race that never went on the 5th - but wasn't able to stay for the reschedule on the 10th.   Money Rabbit (Jean Gallo) along with her husband Clocker Rabbit (Useless Bro-in-Law Steve) did make the trek down from Sarasota representing the entire Ownership team.  They were not disappointed!

To The Race....

Our boy was a step slow and last out of the gate.  I blame Luca as I bet he was daydreaming about the money he was about to pocket.  He  took our boy 5 wide down the backstretch and The Princess & us Rabbits were a little anxious about covering that extra ground in such a short race.

But alas, our boy caught up to the leaders at the start of the turn, pressed by them as they came out of the turn, and then viciously cut the pursuers hearts out in the upper stretch leaving them beating uselessly on the turf.

He Ran a Scalding 2nd Quarter Mile In A BLISTERING 22.5  Seconds!  Smoking!

That's As Hot As Princess Kathy Was On Our Wedding Night Back In 1985!

Another mule attempted a late charge, but our WarHorse was having none of that - valiantly cruising past the Finish Line In Charge, Defiant and ALONE.

Thats 5 Races - And He's Been In The Money Every Time!

Wow.  2 Wins - 2 Seconds and a third.  We got a live one here folks.  Next race is undecided, but will update you when known.  Pictured right is Money Rabbit (Jean) loving up our boy at the barn after the race.

On the undercard, Princess Kathy Racing's filly, Talkin Tipsy was running in a Maiden Special Weight in the 5th race.   Luca Pacini was driving her too.   In just her 2nd race against some pretty stiff competition - she ran a respectable 4th.  A race she needed and one that will continue to develop her.  Also, kudos to Roberta as Talkin Tipsy won the award for the Best Turned Out filly in the race.  Like our Princess Kathy, Tipsy is quite the looker!

Wow! 2 Races On The Same Day.

What A Gigantic Racing Enterprise We Have!

Thanks to Trainer Jimmy Gulick for the stellar job him and his crew (especially Roberta) did in getting both these dandies ready to race!
